Worth knowing
Udio disabled downloading of audio, video and stems under its Universal Music partnership, leaving no export route.
Commercial risk
Universal settled in late Oct 2025 and Warner followed, both trading the lawsuits for equity in a licensed, closed platform targeted at 2026. Downloads were disabled as a settlement condition. The AFM sued UMG and WMG over these settlements. The legal risk has been traded for a total loss of export rights.
